The fare is around $65-217 one way, depending on time and the brand. Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar and Vietjet offer direct flights from Hanoi to Phu Quoc with the different prices and departure times. The travel time is 2 hours and 10 minutes. The ticket price of Vietnam Airlines is often higher than that of Jetstar and Vietjet. 

If your schedule is flexible, you can seek for the cheap flight from the companies of Jetstar and Vietjet to save your money. Jetstar aircraft frequently depart at 9:20 while the departure time of Vietjet is more various (14:45, 12:20, 6:35). How to get to Phu Quoc from Ho Chi Minh City?

The distance from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc is about 450 kilometers in the southwest, you can choose many options to get there such as passenger car, plan, etc. Let’s consider one of the transport options below:

By plane

This is the shortest and fastest option to travel to Phu Quoc from Ho Chi Minh city. The distance between Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Phu Quoc Airport is about 310 kilometers, and you just take 60 minutes flying there. There are two most famous Vietnam airplane brands you can book a flight ticket to visit Phu Quoc, which are Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet.

Traveling to Phu Quoc by plane, you can save a lot of time and energy, let’s make use of it to do more interesting activities in Phu Quoc. 

By motorbike

If you would like to move to Phu Quoc by motorbike or private car, you have to drive on a 361-kilometer road to get to Ha Tien and then catch a boat to get to Phu Quoc.

Although the way to travel to Phu Quoc from Ho Chi Minh city is quite long and ponderous, it is a nice experience for you to enjoy the peaceful beauty of Mekong river delta. After coming to Ha Tien, there are two options for you to get to Phu Quoc island, you can choose to step onto a speedboat or normal boat. It is better to catch a speedboat to move to save time, it only takes one and a half hour moving in the distance of 45 kilometers on the sea.

How to get to Phu Quoc from Da Nang? 

Except for the plane, tourists traveling by other means must stop at Rach Gia or Ha Tien then take a ferry or speedboat to Phu Quoc.

Traveling by plane, tourists note that there is no direct flight from Danang to Phu Quoc. Therefore, if travelers want to travel by plane, they will have to buy flight tickets from Danang Airport to Tan Son Nhat Airport (Saigon) and then from Tan Son Nhat Airport continue to fly to Phu Quoc Airport. Guests can buy tickets from 3 airlines of Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, or Jetstar.

Depending on the airline, ticket prices vary. If Vietjet Air is selected, the total cost for both flights is about VND 1,300,000/guest. Visitors should check on the official airlines’ website for reference. The travel time is 2 hours and 25 minutes to Saigon and 1 hour to Phu Quoc.

Others means of transports for traveling from Da Nang to Phu Quoc are passenger buses, cars and speedboats. 

How to get to Phu Quoc from Hoian? 

The best way to go from Hoi An to Phu Quoc is an airplane though it is not the cheapest means of transportation. The reason is that Phu Quoc is an island, so traveling from the Central like Hoi An will take a lot of time and effort if you choose other ways like motorbike, train, or car.

You will combine the means of a taxi/open bus and plane to move in the route Hoi An - Da Nang - Phu Quoc. That is, you will go from Hoi An to Da Nang International Airport by taxi and then fly to Phu Quoc Airport.

Typically, a 4-seat taxi costs about VND 450,000-550,000/round trip why the open bus ticket is VND 100,000-150,000/guest. However, buying a taxi package takes only VND 250,000/round trip. Hence, if you go in a group, the taxi will be the perfect choice for you. The travel time is 45 minutes.

Currently, there is only Jetstar Pacific airline operating the flight route of Da Nang - Phu Quoc with ticket prices ranging from VND 1,500,000 to 2,300,000/guest. The travel time is 5 hours.

From Phu Quoc, you can catch a taxi, bus, or motorbike taxi to Duong Dong town, which takes about 25 minutes. While the 4-seat taxi takes you VND 180,000-220,000, the bus ticket is VND 50,000/guest, and the motorbike taxi takes around VND 60,000-70,000.

How to get to Phu Quoc from Hue? 

The most reasonable means of transportation for traveling from Hue to Phu Quoc is the aircraft which is known as fast and convenient, it does not take too much time to travel. In order to travel Phu Quoc from Phu Bai airport, you should book a flight to connect flights to Saigon. The time for this flight is 1 hour 30 minutes. 

After that, you can go to Phu Quoc by plane with 50 minutes. Furthermore, tourists have to transfer to Phu Bai international airport for 40 minutes. Time to check in is 1 hour, visitors will have to prepare to arrive 1 hour 36 minutes earlier. With the first flight from Hue to Saigon, visitors will have many flight hours of Vietnamese airlines such as Vietnam Airlines every day 4 flights depart from Hue to Saigon.
From Saigon, Hue tourists will have options to fly to Phu Quoc. Flights from Saigon to Phu Quoc and vice versa are currently being exploited by three domestic airlines with an average frequency of about 10 flights per day. 

How to get to Phu Quoc from Quy Nhon?

From Quy Nhon to Phu Quoc, tourists can travel by plane which is very convenient and fast, suitable for those who want to save time. However, this is not the most economical option, so to reduce transfer cost, travelers should look for cheap plane tickets to book early, before the trip a few months. The travel time is 1 hour and 10 minutes.

From Quy Nhon, you go to Phu Cat Airport, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh province, which is 35 kilometers from the city center, by bus or taxi. Traveling to the airport by taxi is suitable for a group of 3-5 people, which is also reasonable that for now, there are many taxi lines organizing a package for travelers moving from airports to the city center and vice versa such as Mai Linh, Sun Taxi, Taxi Phu Cat, etc.

Apart from the airplane, travelers can get to Phu Quoc island by the combination of passenger bus and speedboat. Nevertheless, this way requires tourists to have good health and plenty of time because there are no buses going from Quy Nhon to Kien Giang.

Otherwise, visitors can go to Rach Gia Bus Station from East Station, Saigon to move to Rach Gia ferry port. From Rach Gia ferry port, tourists will continue to go to Phu Quoc island by high-speed boat. Superdong boat line with the route Rach Gia - Phu Quoc and vice versa depart at 8:00 a.m and 1:00 p.m.

How to get to Phu Quoc from Phan Thiet?

Depending on differences in time and money, there are two options for tourists to move from Phan Thiet to Phu Quoc.

Passenger bus + speedboat

Traveling to Phu Quoc by car, speedboat, or ferry is probably the most popular means of transportation for tourists in the South. From Binh Thuan, travelers can also go to the island by ferry or speedboat. 

By plane

The advantage of air travel is saving time, giving tourists more time to explore and relax in Phu Quoc island. From Binh Thuan, there is no direct flight to Phu Quoc, so travelers need to move to Saigon by the passenger car and then take a flight from Saigon to Phu Quoc directly, with airlines like Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, and Jetstar. 

How to get to Phu Quoc from Nha Trang?

By plane

The best way for you to travel from Nha Trang to Phu Quoc is by plane. The ticket price varies from $50 - $340 depending on the time and class. You will take 2 hours and 40 minutes to get to Phu Quoc International Airport from Nha Trang.

By bus and ferry

If you want to feel the life rhythm of Vietnamese people in each land you get through, you should travel to Phu Quoc by bus. From Southern Nha Trang bus station, you have to catch a Nha Trang-Dalat bus with the price from $4 to $6. The distance between Nha Trang and Dalat is about 140 km, and it takes 4 hours to get to Dalat and the landscape along the road’s side is truly breathtaking. 

Then, you continue to catch a bus from Dalat to Ho Chi Minh city, it takes 8 hours on the bus to get to Ho Chi Minh city with the ticket price from $8 - $9 on the way of over 300 km. The bus will drop you at Mien Tay bus station, from there you again jump on a bus to Ha Tien. The road from Ho Chi Minh City to Ha Tien is about 310 km, and you will take 7:50 to move, the bus price is $7.

Taking a ferry from Ha Tien to get to Phu Quoc island,  the ferry ticket price is about $10 - $18 (VND 230.000 - 400.000) and it takes 90 minutes to get to Bai Vong port on Phu Quoc island. 

By train, bus, and ferry

From Nha Trang train station, you will take 7 hours and 47 minutes to get to Ho Chi Minh city on the track of 411 km long. Then, catching a taxi from Ho Chi Minh train station to Mien Tay bus station, it is just 30 minutes to get there. How to get to Phu Quoc from Can Tho? 


At present, Vietnam Airlines is the only brand of the airline operating the flight with ATR aircraft departing from Can Tho to Phu Quoc with the frequency of one flight per day. The travel time is 55 minutes. Every day, the flight from Can Tho to Phu Quoc departs at 11:50 am while in the contrast direction, the flight Phu Quoc-Can Tho departs at 1:20 pm. The price ranges from $65 to $108.

Coach bus/Motorbike + boat/ferry

From Can Tho, you can take a coach bus or travel by motorbike to Rach Gia before entering the ferry to Phu Quoc.


If you are a backpacker looking for something more adventurous, you can get to Rach Gia from Can Tho by motorbike.

In case of choosing this way, firstly, visitors must catch a coach bus from Can Tho to Rach Gia. Later, they continuously take a ferry to reach Phu Quoc from Rach Gia.
The traveling time is about 3 hours. You are highly recommended to leave before 9 am to catch the ferry at 1 pm to Phu Quoc from Rach Gia. You can choose the coach bus of prestigious brands such as Phuong Trang, Trang Ngoc Phat, and Ngoc Buu.


At present, there are 3 high-speed ferries traveling to Phu Quoc from Rach Gia: Superdong, Savanna and Duong Dong Express. The travel time is around 2 hours.  All high-speed ferries to Phu Quoc are equipped with the air-conditioners, 32-inch LCD televisions for entertainment programs, and the on-boat staff is evaluated to be enthusiastic, friendly and attentive by the passengers.
